THE BURNSIDE MARKET. (Per Press Association.) DUNE DIN, Juno 2. , The weekly stock salo was held at Burnside. Fat Cattle—There were 197 " yarded. The quality on tho wholo was <yily fair. ' Competition for primo cat'tlo was good " at last week's rates. Prices. were : Best bullocks £l9 10s to £22 10s, medium £l6 to £l7, inferior £l3 to £l4, best V cows and heifers £l3 to £ls, medium £lO 15s to £ll 10s. interior £9 10s to -s £lO. Store Cattle —There was a full yarding of storo cattle. Good sorts met with a keen demand, an extra good line from the Lakes district bringing up to £lO 19s. Young cattle, however, were not keenly sought after, and prices were. ' . easier if anything. Fat Sheep—l 993 penned, consisting of a number of pens of prime quality. Freezing buyers were operating more , freely than for. tho past few weeks, with the result that prices woro firm at an ? advance of from 2s to 3s per head. Best wethers realised 46s to 48s, extra 52s 6d, medium do 34s to 365, inferior do 2Ss to 31s, best ewes 39s to 41s, extra 475, medium do 28s to 325, inferior do . 23s to 245. • i Fat Lambs —900 were penned, a mini- , ber of pens being of poor quality. For prime lambs there was a keen demand,, prices being much firmer. Quotations: Best lambs 34s to 375, medium 29s 30s, inferior 23s to 255, stores 16s to., ;, 1 ' 17s. v . Pigs—There was a small yarding both;*,:" of fat and store pigs.. Fats were a 1 *- shade easier on last week's rates.
