| Tho annual meeting of- tlio North i Ota go Horticultural Society was onlv I meagrely attended last night. Mr W. D. Burns presided, i The report was taken as road. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £3 14s. The Chairman congratulated the Society upon coming out with a credit i balance. He thanked tho Committee t for past services, and urged them to i secure as many new members as posi sible. He moved the adoption of the i report and balance-sheet. Mr J. Kearns seconded the motion, which was carried. i It was Suggested that there was- a plethora of vice-presidents, and it was decided to reduce the- number by making his Worship the Mavor. Hon. Geo. Jones, and Messrs H. Milligan, .1. Mitchell. and R.. A. Bulkeley, and Mesdames W. Gardiner, D. Cameron, H. Barclay, and H. J. Davis ••patrons. The, election of other officers resulted :—President. Rodman regretted that circumstances would compel- him to take a diminished part in the work of tire Society m future, as he was leflSVmg the district. He had taken an active nart m. the -work of the Societv. but had always found members . ready to assist him. He looked back with pleasure to bis years ot work with them. He would always take'an interest in the Societv. micl wished to thank them for the privileere of having been an active -member. The President regretted the impending loss of so valued a member. Mr Rodman was always «.n enthusiastic worker in nil he took up. He hoped to see Mr and Mrs Rodman present at every show and at everv annual meeting. Votes of thanks closed the meeting.
