(Per Prpss Association.) WELLINGTON, June 2. Parliament will open on the 24th J,lnC " TTMARU, June 1. Last night the Timaru Borough Council, from 32 applicants, appointed Mr G. T. Wilson, late electrical engineer of the Hamilton Borough Council, to the position of Borough Electrical Engineer, and Mr W. A. Mount, formerly of the Navy, to the position of power-house engineer, for which there were 33 applicants. DUNEDIN, June 2. The Taratu coalminers did not return io work to-day. The Company has two mines- ordinarily at full work, a "d a. third mine is being opened tip. All axe idle to-day. The Company claims that the point at issue should have been referred to the National Disputes Committee according to the national agreement. •'
