(Per Press Association.} / WELLINGTON, April 26. The police on Friday arrested a voting man on a charge of attempted blackmail. The accused was brought before Mr Hollings, S.M.. on baturday, hnt on the application of Chief-detec-tive "Ward, he was remanded till AN eclnesdav. An application foj- bail was "ranted bv the magistrate. Chief-de-tective Ward remarket! that the alleged crime was of a particularly serious type, which might render the accused" liable to imprisonment for life if he were convicted.
