Mr \V.-11. .Morris, Secretary of the Post Office, has been appointed Chief Fublic Service Commissioner, in place of .Mr Donald Robertson, who is retiring ui the end of April on superannuation, ins term of appointment having expired. Mr F. V. Eraser, who has been acting Assistant Commissioner, has been eoniirmed in his appointment. A third appointment is to be made. Mr A p. Thomson, at present Assistant-Commis-sioner, is retiring from , his office, and will probably return to the Magiste-rinl Bench. CHRISTCHURCH. March 12 A telegram received from Otirn states | that delegates of the Workers' Union 1 met Mr Holmes, Chief Engineer of th» Public Works Department. A meeting of miners unanimously decided to accept these terms.
