Pwn Press l Association WELLINGTON, November 7. Details of the teachers' salaries in-' creases are announced.. The jexisting.; scales are unaltered, but each certificated teacher receives an. increase based on his or her position on the dominion grading list. Specific' in- ■ creases ranging from £lO to £45 are provided, payable according to the grading of salary and position on the grading list. Other increases provided in particular instances, the main one being an additional £lO to all teachers in schools from Grade I to Grade 111 B ; pupil teachers, £65, .£75, and £BS *n their respective grades: probationers, £65 and £75 for respective years' training: college students, annual increases of £2O; pupil teachers, -probationers, and students, an etxra £25 if thev live away from home. The increases aggregate £200,000, and are retrospective to April 1 last. Payment will probably be made in the first week in December. Relieving teachers are to have fixed salaries on a. most liberal scale, and sick pay: and oganising teachers a house allowance of £SO. Generally speaking, the increases, plus the increases of January 1. last, aggregate in the majority of cases from £lO to £6O. and in many cases from £65 to £BO.
