11l Jiis report the examiner. Dr Thomas, oi Palmerston. says:— "Tile answers given by candidates ab both the first-aid and nursing division examination? indicate that the greatmajority of the students had read the text-book? well and were interested in the work. The oral and practical results are vert - gratifying and the candidates showed ihat they had studied the specimens and had made full use of the splendid equipment possessed by this branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. With some exceptions the work in these branches was very praiseworthy. The results of the written examination were not so uniformly good, but the majority showed that they possessed the knowledge and had studied the text-books diligently. The most striking weakness on the part of some seemed to be their difficulty in applying general principles of first-aid and nursing treatment suitable io some of the specific disorders mentioned in the ((uestions. The interest of the students in their work is evidently very real, and reflects the greatest credit on the instructor and officials of the branch."
