SIMPLE JUSTICE.

To the Editor. Sir, —In your issue of the 24tli September there is a paragraph in which, it is stated! that the Oamaru Middle School took 110 part in contributing to the fund :organinsed' by Sir HacMen Dennison for the relief of the dependants of the officers and men wsio ! fell in the Jutland .battle. Allow me to •say that this statement is absolutely untrue. I gave Mr Dennison a cheque for £6 on behalf of my school. I have written to Mr Dennison and have asked him twice to put me right, witfr-'Wio public on this matter, but, for some reason best known to himself, he avoids doing For the information of those' who subscribed and have a right to know what became of their money, allow me to give- them the following information, given a week ago to Mr Dennison. 1st —I gave a cheque, drawn in favor of the-''Secretary. Navy to Mr Dennison in his office. 2nd—That cheque was paid into Mr Dennison's account in the National Bank and collected from the Bank of New Zealand'. 3rd —In your issue of sth July, 1916, the receipt of that cheque is -acknowledged. This clears me. In the face of the ( above Mr'Dennison replies : ' You never 'paid in any mon-ey at my office for any fiind that 'I had anything to d'o with on behalf of yourself or school." And, further: ' 'lf you have paid anything direct to me I have no record of it." In justice to myself, staff, and school I ask you to publish the foregoing,. wfiich some -other person should have made. —1-am, etc.; , •' E.";EA.KL.
