'Regarding the recommendation from the general meeting as to the advisability of trying to arrange to hold our race meeting in Oamaru, Mr Gillies reported that in a conversation with the President of the North Otago Jockey Club, Mr W. Gardiner, junr., the latter said he thought there would be no difficulty about facing in Oamaru, and thought such a request coming from the Kurow Club would be granted. After considering all the drawbacks that the club would be faced with in holding the meeting at Kurow without the aid of the special train arrangement from Timaru and Oamaru, there would certainly be a heavy loss to the club, and while regretting very much having to take the meeting to'Oamaru, from the club's country patrons point of view, it was thought best in the interests of the club to do so this year, and the committee hoped that members and their sporting patrons would do all they could to make the meeting a success. The District Committee in Dunedin has consented to the change of venue.
