The mayoralty resulted: Stead 2275, M'Farlane (retiring Mayor) 1853. Waimate, April 25, The mayoral, election resulted: Geo. Dash, 449; W.G.Russell, 336. Councillors, nine seats: W. Evans 625, E.- Atwill 542, A. Beswick 507, G. Collett 610, C. Holmes 522, R. Inkster 609, F. Jones 578, G. Meredith 499,rJ.Tompkins 565 (elected), W. George 442. . Christchurch, April 25. For the mayoralty of Christchurch H. Holland, retiring Mayor, inflicted a crushing defeat on J. M'Combs/M.P.. who stood as an anti-conscript-ionist. There was a very heavy poll.. Holland, 12,177; M'Combs, 5381; majority for Holland. 6796. It will be very late before there is any indication. of the City Councillors' result.

Dunedin, April 26. The mayoral elections resulted: St. Kild —Scurr, 1055 ; Dove, 815. Port Chalmers —Tait, 476; Scollay (present Mayor), !G7; Powell, 70. Greymouth, April 2G. The patriotic candidates were returned at the Borough Council elections yesterday, the ticket being returned in toto. Tile Labor party, who made the issue conscription, ran six candidates. J. Goodall, who sought re-election as> a Labor candidate, polled 1 766, against the lowest patriotic candidate's poll of 1115. Labor also failed to gain a seat on the Charitable Aid Board.
