WAR PENSIONS.

(Feb Press Association.) Wellington. January 11. The War Pensions Department last week dealt with 34S cases. The total claims to date number 3848 from soldiers and 2204 from dependents. The annual value of pensions to date is. as follows: —933 .soldiers £49,059, average. £52: 388 widows and wives. £37,813, average £97 : 1381 other dependents, £39,664, average £2B: 2719 temporary pensions, £146,559, average £-53. The grand total is 5421 pensions and allowances, of an amial value ot £273,095, an average of £SO. The annual liability is reduced approximately by £40.000. owing to cases being struck off the roll.
