The Gymnasium Hall at the South School was-filled this afternoon on the occasion of the annual prize distribution in ' connection with the school. Mr Crombie. the Cliaitrnan, in his opening remarks, complimented the teachers and scholars on the year's work. He drew, attention to the fact that all the entrants had passed in the proficiency examination. . Mr Aldred congratulated his- staff and the children on the year's success, and spoke of the excellent way the children had responded to the war relief funds, between £'so and £6O having been contributed. Mesdames Crombie and Aldred presented, the prizes to the deserving pupils. The building was arranged with the best results of the year's handiwork—sewing, brushwork, writing, and d rawing—and was standing tostiriiony to the excellent teaching, of the staff and the splendid results attained. —Standard J.— Dux of class: Constance Miller.
