LIVINGSTONE NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A. fancy dress ball was held in the Livingstone Hall on toft 17th July, and was -undoubtedly one of the best entertainments that have been held in the district. The night was ideal tor tho occasion, and -all present endeavored, to the best of their ability to help towards the success of the evening. Mr Lory (chairman of the- Committee) opened- the proceedings with a rew weli-cliosen remarks, after -which the floor was cleared for dancing. Mr b. Robertson, in a very capable manner acted as Master of Ceremonies. Hie march was led ofi by Mr ». Robertson and Miss Robertson, borne I noticed in fancy dress were: Mrs tatterson ("Grace Darling"), Miss M Cone ("English ladv"), Miss Maud M'Cone | ("Norwegian Peasant"). Miss Hut ton ("Queen Anne 1 '), Miss Patterson ("Waitress"). Miss Eileen M'Quadc ("Cinderella,''), Mrs W. M'Quade("Nurse"), Miss R. Smith and Miss K-. Kennedy ("Tulips"), Mrs Barnes ("Shamrock"). MissSomervillo ( 'Dutch Girl"), Miss- Hunter ("Gipsy I'ortuucteller"). Miss M. Frater ("Sprmg ).

Mrs Kreft ("Eed Gross Nurse '), Messrs J. Payne ("Cricketer"), P. Payne ("Red Indian"), S. Robertson ( Mexican Cowboy"), J. Cooincr ("bpauish Cavalier"), E\ J. Norland ("Steward"). W.
