WOOL SALES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] Per Press Association. London, July 8. At the- wool sales tliere is a- goo.i selection ; crossbreds arc- fully up to opening rates. There is a small selection of merinos which show a 5 per cent, advance.

The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advice from its London office regarding the opening of the. present series of London-colonial wool sales" in London: —The sales have opened with moderate competition and large attendance o( buyers. There is a good demand for fine crossbreds. Total net quantity New Zealand woo] available. 110,000 bales. Prices are easier for coarse, crossbreds. The market is- strong for medium crossbreds. Prices are unchanged. The market is strong for fine crossbred. Prices are. higher from o to 71 per cent. TlieNew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Ltd.) have received the following cable from their London office: —There was a. full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day. Competition by Home, Continental, and American 'buyers was active; and prices as compared with the close of preceding series ruled about 5 per cent, higher for fine crossbred and merino, about par to 5 per cent, higher for medium crossbred. Coarse crossbred market firm: very little merino offered. The opening catalogues were not representative.
