HAYWARD'S PICTURES. The . attractive .bill > which lias held sway since the beginning of the week at the' Picture Palace drew another enthusiastic attendance last night, each of the entertaining subjects being heartily received. To-night the programme will be shown for the last time, and those who can enjoy a- particularly good series of pictures are recommended to spend the evening at the Picture Palace. All the best features of such entertainments are prominent in the programme under notice.

THE SMART SET. This talented and brilliant array of Comedy Costume Artists, under the direction of Mr Edward Branscom.be, will make -their appearance at Oamaru for a season of two nights, commencing on Monday, next. The box plan will open at the Dresden to-morrow morning and it would be wise for patrons to secure their seats beforehand, as a great demand is practically assnred. There is no more popular organisation of this kind appearing in Australasia atthe moment than the Smart Set, who have, been taken, over by Mr Edward Branscombe, who has enlarged the list of artists by several "stars" from his Dandies companies. In addition the repertoire has been extended to such extent that it is now practically illimitable, and in consequence of tin's, programmes will be changed, in their entirety each evening. Mr Walter George and Miss Georgie Martin, of whom the most pleasant recollections are retained from tlieir last visit, are still with the Smar.t Set, and will present a host- of new duets, sketches, etc. Mr Harry De Robeck is one of the new artists with this Company and has been extremely succoss'f.ul in Australia in his patter songs, and character work. The following artists may also be mentioned, each one being at the- very top of the tree in his or h#r respective line:—Mr Ernest Parker, baritone; Miss Gwennyth Evans, contralto; Mr Maurice Jones, tenor; Miss Lalla Knight, soprano; and Mr Edgar Hulland, solo pianist and accompanist. The prices will be 3s, 2s, Is.
