The German Consul, replying to the Herald's criticisms of the German lines takiug up tlie New* Zealand trade, says the whole undertaking is as much private business as any other. Neither company is receiving any subsidy from the German Government. They will take ■ wool not only- .'for German but other European ports, so that tliew will open the -Continental markets for the primary producers of the Dominion.
