WAIMATE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting was held oil Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs J. Black (chair). Lee, White, Geddes, Meredith. Manchester, and Graham. The headmaster's report gave the roll number as primary 516, secondary "59, with average attendances of 454 and 55. Some manure and lime was required for the school gardens and extra shelving for the science room. Mr Geddes offered to give the lime and manure required and his offer was accepted with thanks. Authority was •riven to erect the necessary shelving. The Borough Council wrote presenting the Committee with the soil alreadv carted. The letter was received with thanks. The Chairman stated that the memorandum of transfer in connection with the extra playground had been signed. The Committee decided to put the fences in order and to return to subscribers the money collected for the purchase of the ground. It was decided to hold a special meeting to consider the advisability of asphalting a portion of the present playground. Accounts amounting to £2B 19s lid were passed for payment.
