There is an epidemic of burglaries ,im the city .and!" suburbs, and! a day rarely passes without a list of daring and in most._eases successful raids on shops and 'business premises in the main streets. It- seems, that an expert gang is at work to obtain- booty, and escape-, leaving no clues. During the holidays two safes were -blown open. Donohue's premises in. Castlereagh street were rinnpatked', and' jewellery valued at £SOO was stolen. The thieves missed a further safe containing £2OOO worth oi. jewels. Fremantle, June 9. The police- are offering a- ,rewaa-d of £l5O for the apprehension of the man who shot the watchman at the. Oxford street post office in Fremantle.
