BURGLARS IN SYDNEY.

Received June 9, at 0.10 a.m. For the fourth time in twelve months burglars attempted to rob the Oxford street post office in the early morning. The watchman, hearing someone inside, fastened the door and went to obtain assistance. He had only gone, a few yards when a man, evidently watching" his movements, fired a revolver at' him. The bullet, passing through the watchman's cheek, struck a. second man standing on the footpath, knocking out three teeth. The watchman fired three shots at his,assailant, who succeeded in escaping. Meanwhile, the safe-breaker, who was locked inside, alarmed, by the firing, broke a fanlight, reached a -back building, de■sPctndsd by the fire escape, and gotaway.
