MAIN TRUNK SERVICE.

Per Press Association. Wellington, June 9. The Railway Department has decided to continue the second express train between Wellington and Auckland until further notice. Possibly the xrain will -be continued as an experiment throughout the winter. If it is found that patronage falls off to any considerable extent below the business done at the present time it may be necessary tocurtail the service. The returns appear to indicate little prospect at present of the double service being a- commercial sucess. The department, however, hopes that additional facilities for travel will eventually lead to increased business.
