The possibility- of the recrudescence of war* is continued by Huerta's announcement that he -intends to blockade. Tampico. Huerta has ordered the gunboats to seize the cargo of the Cuban steamer Antilla, en route from Tampico to Carranza. _ -. Secretary Daniels announces that he will not change Tii-s policy, and the United States will keep Tampico open for all commerce.
Washington, June 8. A drunken Mexican attempted to interfere with the Mexican police and the United States infantry, and Lieutenant Houston shot him dead. "
General Funston reports that the Mexican attacked Houston with- a knife, and therefore the act was one of justifiable homicide and no further action is considered necessary.

Huerta has abandoned his intention to blockade Tampico, asserting his desire not to interfere with the peace negotiations. Diplomatic circles regard the action as nroof of Huerta's intention to-aban-don the Presidency whenever arrangements have been made for a successor.
