The Corinna arrived last night at 11 n.m. She Onded six tons and loaded'2o!) tons, sailing at 4.30 this morning for northern ports via Timaru. The Waitomo sailed for Auckland, via Timnru, at 1.30 p.m. to-day with' 150 tons produce For Auckland. Mr*.A. Brent, late of the Kowhai, joins the Waitomo at Oamaru as purser. The Wanganui Harbor Board decided to send the dredgemaster (Mr Swan) to Glasgow to superintend the construction of the new dredge for Wanaanui Harbor. The dredge will cost £36,000. •♦ The 'general manager of the Union Steam Ship Company has intimated, in reply to recent representations as to the. unsatisfactory service between New Plymouth and Southern ports, that an alteration, will be made in the timetable which will give a weekly conned tion froifTthe South via- Wellington, by the Corinna and Taviuni, and a weekly direct connection from Wellington to New Plymouth. The first direct steamer from Wellington will sail on June 24.
