OAMARU MUSICAL SOCIETY.

The Musical Society held a. satisfactory rehearsal of "Aihalio" on Saturday evening, and tho public will have tho opportunity to-morrow evening of listening to an exceptionally tuneful oratoria. Tho orchestration will bo a feature of tho performance, the overture, a brilliant piece of composition, being rendered by a largo and callable orchestra. Tho" wcll-iknown "War March of tho Priests" will bo Riven, and is sure to elicit appreciation. There is an unusual departure :iu tho introduction into tho oratorio of, a, reader, to speak the character parts in tho form of monologues, which lends variety to the rendition. Tho innovation proved at the rehearsal to ho a. highly attractive item. Tho public, is confidently recommended to attend the performance, as the concert should bo one of the best the Society has given. In the absence of Mr W. If. Hose, Mr I'\ C. Burry will conduct the performance.
