CHINESE "KNUTS."

An entertaining li'sht is thrown, by a letter addressed by 'a Chinese .to the ''Singapore Free Press on the desperate efforts of "Straits-born Celestials-to vie with the = '"knut""in gaudmess attire. Referring to .the dress regulations mvo«me at his club, Lhu Pong Foo the writer of the letter, utters the following lament, quoted by the Express:—.
