(Per Press Association.) "Waihi, November 8. ■' The silent tactics of the unemployed and their womenfolk towards the workers were wry short-lived. The strain of silence was- too great, and the crowd once more found voice when the day shift came off yesterday afternoon and again when the workers went on this morning. On each occasion they were ''booed" and yelled at with great vigor in the outskirts of the town. The police took a firm stand and in different localities crowds in the vicinity of workers' homes were dispersed, mounted and foot police effectually breaking up the demonstrations.
Cc>mmi>sioner C'ullen arrived hero iy last night's express. It is understood from the management of the Waihi mine that only about(>o more miners arc required at the mijie tliis vear. -Probably those "ill be. available during the next fortnight.
