The Flora arrived at Oamarp at 3 o'clock thi3 morning from Dunedin. She landed 20 tons of general cargo, shipped •jiiO tons of produce, and sailed at 10.30 a.m.. via 'iimara and Lyttelton, for Wellington, Picton, New Plymouth, and West Coast ports. The Kowhai is due at Oamaru from Dunedin this evening to lift cargo for N'apier. Gisborne, and Auckland. Railwaj Company's steamer Slieve Bloom, bound from Holyhead to Dublin, at 2.30 a Mi., four miles X.E. of South Stack. The Star of New Zealand, being run into on the starboard side into thei cross bunkers, immediately began to make water freely into tho stokehold and engine-room. The master promptly made for Kefuge. Harbor, and beached her to westward of Government Buoy, grounding at 3 a.m. The Star of New Zealand was heading along the coast of Anglesey, when the Slieve Bloom ran into her. The impact was severe, and for a moment consternation ruled, but irlien the first excitement passed over it was found that the Star of New Zealand was making water in the stokehold .and engine-room very freely. Later or. it was stated that the collision damage was not so serious, but that greater damage had been done to the vessel by striking some obstruction -lieu she was for port to ha Ivached. Latest particulars bv mail state that the cargo was being discharged. after which an effort would made to float the vessel and take ii- r to dock for repairs.
