(Pj3k Tbess Association.) Christ-church. June 1.1. The Cost of Living Commision resumed; this morning. Evidence was given concerning the cost of carting. The representative of a disinfectant firm stated that the Merchants' Association tried to induce his principals at Home to give the association' the 'handling of their goods. _ -. : ' _ A boot operative explained how New Zealand gopds'vvrer'e branded, with foreign brands ixv order to deceive the public. He said it was done at the request of the retailers. A boot manufaVturer corroborated this evidence.
