FOOTBALL.
REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The usual weekly meeting of the above j was held on Monday, there being present: Messr Doran (Chairman), Mullin, King, Sherwin, Travis, and Reid (secretary). It was decided to hold a special meeting on Friday next, and invite representatives from the different Rugby Clubs to discuss new rules and come to a better understanding with players, and make the game more interesting to the public. The following members were appointed for Thursday next:—Old Boys v. Excelsior, Mr A. King; Athletic 11. v. Excelsior 11., Mr G. Travis; OJd Boys 11. v. Waitaki B, Mr Geo. Shot-win. v
