THE REEFTON STRIKE.

Mr Fagan, Secretary to the Jnangahua Miners' Union, interviewed by a Star reporter, expressed disgust at tho refusal of the Crown Law officers to prosecute for a. lock-out- in the mining trouble, and prophesied under the circumstances a protracted struggle. Reef ton. June 11. Proceeding.* in the mining dispute are getting worse. The Citizens' Committee met Jnst night and resolved, to ask the Hon. J. Coivin to offer his services to both sides with a view of returning to the status oura in October last. The discussion of the question as to opposition, to the application for protection by the company was deferred till matters- have further developed. Mr Fagan, Secretary of the Union, says , the lnangahua Times, in answer to a charge, states that his salary is cut down- from the date of the lockout, and he will only accept Jock-out pay. No lock-out pay has ret been given, but preparations for paying out are now being made.
