GENERAL ELECTION.
(Per Press Association.) Hawera, September 20. Mr P. O'Dea. a candidate for the Patea. seat, addressed the electors last night. He declared himself a Government supporter, upheld the present education system, favored a bare majority for no-license, opposed the granting of the freehold to Crown tenants, and supported the abolition of the "Upper House or the making of it elective. He received a vote of confidence. /
Replying to a statement that a Minis-, ter "would run for the Patea seat, Mr O'Dea said that would not affect him; he would go to the poll.
