President Tafi's telegraphic protest, the Senate amended the Anglo-French-American arbitration treaties" eliminating the provision conferring special powers on the joint high commission. Old World dominance; is feared bv Senators, reference, being made to Mr James R-ryce's hook on the American Commonwealth, which years ago; attacked the Senate for po-litical-bias in ; ireaty making. President Taft does not intend, to a"iee to the deletion of the objection- | able paragraph. The fate of the treatyhangs in the balance.
