AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 13. The representative hockey "match for the shield between Auckland and Wellington was played on.Saturday, at P.ay's U,ny. The weather was bright..:arid sunshiny, tempered by a cool southerly iireeze, and eloso on 3000 spectators were, present., The ground was in firstclass condition. The game was brilliant right through, and . ended .in a draw, each side scoring.one goal. According to the conditions governing thr; shield matches an extra half-hour had to he plaved in the case of a draw, and this was done, but no change in scores resulted, and Wellington, which was defending the shield, consequently retains it.
