WAIMATE CORONATION CELEBRATIONS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A. meeting of the General Committees was held last eveuing, when there were present-Messrs Francis, Inkst-er, Grant, Miller, Fraser, Collett, Shackleton, Nash, Sanders, Pitcaithly, and Major The' Various sub-committees presented their reports, and the following programme was decided upon: Procession to ■start at 1 p.m., consisting of Brass and Pipe Bands, Territorials, Cadets, Scouts. Friendly Societies, Fire Brigade, and schools, from the Drill nhed to Seddon Square; opening of the memorial fates by the Mayoress; speech by his "Worship the Major from- the rotunda; unfurling the flag by -Mrs Hart; feu-de-joie by Territorials; National Anthem by Hand; speeches by Sir \V. J. Steward and Mr T. J«. Mart; plantiii"- commemorative oak by Lady steward.- At 3 p.m., free cinematograph entertainment for school children, grand muster ol ex-Volunteers, 1 torials Cadets, and Scouts at the Drill Hall; 'march past; valedictory address to the old Volunteers by the Mayor, and speech on the compulsory system to the Territorials by Sir V\ . .J. Steward; presentation' of long-service medal to Major Barclay. At 8 p.m.: Cinematograph entertainment for the public. At 9 p.m.: G'ranrt Coronation military, plain, and fancy dress ball in the new Skating Rink. - It was decided to make the tickets for tin; ball -Is. with Is for extra ladies if with double tickets.
