Saturday's- - picture entertainments flrew large audiences .to the Opera House. Tfie matinee was largely attended, a. number of those present having to lake seats, in., the lower part of th<- hall, while-- the evening performance was witnessed by a

bouse almost full. The programme contained many excellent -. subjects, but there was an absence of the scenic films which are generally an outstanding feature jji these entertainments. The drama! Ie .subjects were of excellent, quality, perhaps the best being "Fisher Folk." "In Neighboring Kingdoms." and "The Gamble of the West." The Pat-he Gazette /.-untamed many pictures of interest, and a picture showing the germination of plants was also watched with interest. "The Six Brompton Girls" ga-vo a really marvellous acrobatic exhibition, and the efforts of "Bumptuous" to produce '•J'omeo and Juliet''- with the aid of a few amateurs caused much merriment. The best of the comedies was one depicting the doings of a wonderfully trained panther which visits various apartments and shops, causing confusion and consternation. "The Tramp Cyclist" and '•'Tommy and his ■Trumpet" also caused much laughter. The music of the Pathe Orchestra was quite a pleasing feature of the entertainment.
