(Per Press Association.) Wellington, May 28. Contracts have been let to M'Arthur and Co., and M'Lean and Gray, "Wellington (jointly) for the Union Company at Evans Bay. The contract price is about £21,000, and twelve months have been given. • the contractors in which to complete it. The buildings, which are to be erected- on the steelframe principle, encased with corrugated iron, will contain the engineering, boilennaking, and machine shops, an electrical department, sawmill, joinery, upholstery, and boat building shed. The erection of these works means that a large portion of the Company's work previously carried out at Port Chalmers will ho done in "Wellington- A start has been made with the new works. The Company already has an extensive laundry in course of construction in the same locality.
