PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, May 13. In reply to a question as to the public holidays to be observed next month, brought before him when in Christchurch by the Mayor, Mr Taylor, M.P., the Hon. J. A. Millar has telegraphed that he finds on enquiry that May 24th will not be observed! as a public holiday in public offices, that June 3rd will be' observed as the King's Birthday, that June 22nd (Coronation Day) will no doubt be generally observed throughout the Dominion, and that the Government has decided that there will be no observance of the anniversary of the heir apparent's birthday (June 23rd).
