SIR JOSEPH WARD HONORED

'■ ■ . .' ,_. . ■ The King, Qu«on, Prince of \\ales, "and Princess Victoria drove to the Crystal Palace. 100,000 school 'Children and' Boy Scouts lined the route. -• Their Majesties had an enthusiastic reception. They stopped to listen, while 20,000 children at bouthSvarksang the National Anthem. Many triumphal arches were erected, and several mayors of borough councils presented addresses. Tiio Duke and Duchess of Fife, the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, and the Duke and Duchess of Teck joined their Majesties at Crystal Palace, .where Lord Plymouth received them. A concert, followed, during; wliich' Madame IClaVh. Butt, Dr Harriss,' and; a choir of 1 4500 voices Tendered songs,' in- : eluding Kipling's "Recessional." ; Their Majesties afterwards reviewed a pageant of performers in "costume. Among these were included a num.ber of Australians and New Zealanders, including Miss Ward (as Maori Princess) and Miss Rubi Seddon and Mrs Hislop (in Maori.costume). Their Majesties then' .inspected the model of Imperial Parliament Houses, and the All-Red tour,' including Canada's £70,000 sterling exhibit, and the Fair of Fashion.
