At the meeting of the Land Board the following matters of interest to this district were dealt with: A. Robertson, .lessee of section 19a, Kaiiroo Hill. '•" William Henderson, lessee of section 1 of 56, IX, Oamaru district, s.r., wrote applying for a reduction in the rent on account'of the dry season. — Received. Application'declined; Board was surprised at' Mr Henderson making such an-application-considering the rent p'aid-liim by the sub-lessee. - George'Cpx,-lessee of-sectipns 84, 85, 86, 109, 110, and 111, block IV., Papakaio district, e;i\, wrote asking that lie be allowed a remission of rent on account of the bad season .—Held over to ascertain position of Board with regard to recommending remissions to holders of School CoWimissioners' leases.

Ranger 'Atkins reported on the application by -J: E. Pugli for "a license to occupy section 15, block XIII, that as Mr Duncan had proved a. good tenant, in protecting the' interests of the Government in the bush on this section a renewal'of the license be granted him for one year at a rental of £o : Ss. J. E. Plight's application declined. Ranger Atkinson reported on the application by, James Farquharson, lessee of section ' 132,' Ardgowan Estate, to have some of the trees on the adjoining sections, 95 aiid 96, cut down. —Board could hot see its 'way to comply with request.'"' Ah application was received from J. Pringle for assistance to enable him to oTitain water on his property, block VI, Maerewlienua' "district.—Resolved that Messrs Livingstone and M'Pherson mspect:Mr,Pringle's property, and report to next meeting.
