"M"OTICE is hereby given that the Oamaru Borough Council will, at a SPECIAL MEETING of the Council, to he held at the Oamaru Borough Conncil Chambers, situate in tile Town Hall, Thames street, Oamaru, on FRIDAY, the 26th day of May, 1911, at 8 o'clock p.m., MAKE and LEVY the following RATES for tlio period commencing on the Ist day of APRIL, 1911, and ending on the 31st day of MARCH, I<H2, namely: A General Rate, under Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1903," and "The Rating Act, 1908," and Amendments thereof, of One Shilling and Threepence ill the £ on the Ratablo Value on the Valuation Roll, of all Ratable Property within tho Borough of Oamaru, on the basis of the annual value. Water Rates, Ordinary Supply, under Section S3, of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1003," and "Tho Rating Act, 1008," a;; follows: On all lauds and buildings in the Borough of Oamaru to which water is supplied wlieru the annual ratable value on the Valuation Roll does not exceed £l2 10s, a Rate of Ten Shillings: where such ratable value exceeds £l2 10s, a Rate of Seven per centum on such value on the first Ono Hundred Pounds, and Six per centum on the Second Hundred Pounds of such value, and Five per centum on the Third Hundred Pounds of such value; Four per centum on so much of such value as exceeds Three Hundred Pounds; one-half, of the respective Water Rates mentioned above on all lands and luiild-"* ings to which water can be, but is not, supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for any other purpose other than dwellirighouses.

Also, that :ill the above Rates will be payable afc the office of the Oamaru Borough Council, situate in the Town Hall, Thames stroet, Oamaru, tho General Rato aforesaid ill one slim on the 27th day of May, 1911, aud the Water Rate in two equal instalments, 011 tho 27th day of May, 1911, and the 27th day of November, 1911. NOTICE is also hereby given that FIVE-SIXTEENTHS oT the ANNUALLY RECURRING SPECIAL RATE of FOUR SHILLINGS in the £, made under "The Oamaru Loans Consolidation Act, 1593," and '"The Rating Aft, 19US," on the ratable value of all the ratable property within tho Boroilgh of Oamaru, on the basis of the annual value thereof, for the period abovenamed, will bo payable at the office of the Oamaru Borough Council, Town Hall, Thames street, Oamaru, in Two Equal Instalments, on the 27th day « it MAY, 1911, and the 27th day «\ NOVEMBER, 1911. NOTICE is hereby given that in lien of a Separate Ilate for the Cleansing of Closets and Privies not connected with a public drain a UNIFORM KKK for such purposes for the year commencing on the Ist day of APRIL, 1911, and ending on the 31st day .of MARCH, 1912, of TWELVE SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE per pan for Each Closet or Privy served, upon such properties as have a house or houses erected thereon, will, under Section 89 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1905," be made and charged in the Borough of Oamaru, and will be payable at the office of the Oamaru Borough Council, Town Hall, Thames street.
