WORKERS' HOMES.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, April 26. The Labor Department has received over 3000 applications from all over the Dominion for workers' homes under the Act passed last session. The Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister of Labor, says 20 or 30 letters daily are still coming in. For purposes of economy these houses must he built in groups of at least .six. The applications from Wellington alone total 1200. The vote provided for the current year is £15,000, hut Mr Millar says it looks as if £IOO,OOO will be nearer the mark in future, and that that amount will he. required annually for live or six yeans.
