GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS.
The annual sports and. exhibition of drawing were held at Waitaki Girls' High School on Saturday. The exhibition of drawing has already been described in the Mail. Of the sports it may be said that there was much enjoyment for both contestants and onlookers. Visitors were exceedingly numerous and, on the green settingoosf s the lawn made quite a gay picture. Musical selections were.contributed during the afternoon by the Waitaki Boys' High School Brass Band, and the high school girls made very attentive; hostesses in the matter of dispensing afternoon tea. Mr A. A. M'Kinnon, secretary to the Board of Governors, acted as starter and general director of the sports. At the close of the afternoon the prizes were presented by Miss Forgusson to the fortunate competitors as follow:
