Jennings played a great innings, hitting brilliantly. He was at the wickets 123 minutes, and made: seven tourers. He was dismissed by a brilliant catch. Hodern, Kortlang, and. Macartney were in good form, but the others were disappointing. The innings lasted three hours 44 minutes. The howling was good, but the fielding only moderate, several good catches being dropped. South Africa, opened badly in the fading light, and three wickets produced only 32, Hordern's googlies 'disconcerting the players. Zulch and Faulkner played cautiously imtil the stumps were drawn. GOOD SCORING. (Pek Press Association.) Gisbome, December 4. What is probably a. record second wicket partnership was established here yesterday in the senior grade competition. The Wanderers playing Taruheru scored 412 for one wicket—Young 219 (not. out) and M'Mahaii 154 (not out). Each gave a good display. Tarnhcin only made 13.
