Messrs T. E. Sliiel and Co. report for the week ending 2nd November as follows :

Produce —Generally- speaking a quiet week has been experienced for all lines. The position with regard to oats is entirely held in farmers' hands. Vvo expect prices to ease later on. A fair quantity o.f potatoes are coming forward from Victoria, while local supplies are on the decrease. The market, however, is fairly steady. New potatoes are now coming on the market, and this v, ill tend to ease prices somewhat. Chaff is easier;. and sales are difficult, to make. Eggs are not so plentiful, and a steady market is being found for good reliable lines. Butter "is quieter, nothing but good separator receiving much attention at late quoted rates. Pigs are short of requirements, and an unlimited quantity at present can be placed at an ad-ivance-ou previous rates. Potatops—Prime local " Up-to-Dates, £9 10s to £11) 10s; Victorians, excel-" lent quality, £9 to £9 ss. A good reception awaits new potatoes, and large sorts make from 2d to 3d per lbc Chaff —Market welll supplied. Prime black oat, up to £4 15s. Tfowl wheat —Better enquiry. Large berried, up to 3s; shrivelled, 2s lOd; broken, .'2s 9d. Oats —Bright heavv feed, Is lid; duns, 2s; sparrowbills and blacks, Is .lOd to Is 10id. Pigs—We have an exceptional enquiry for these, and could place 50 to 60 good bacon and porker pigs this coming week. Our market has'firmed con-, siderably, up to 4£d per lb being obtainable for prime dairy-fed from 120 to 1601b; heavier weights, up to 3+d per lb.
