ELECTRIC POWER.

(Per Press Association.) Pahiatua, October 28. A conference of delegates representing tho local bodies and Chamber of Commerce in the districts interested in the proposed Makuri power scheme was held this afternoon. It was unanimously agreed that the delegates attending this conference, after visiting the Makuri Gorge, are of opinion that the proposed Makuri electric power scheme should be one of.the first; to be undertaken by the Government. Eighteen delegates, representing eleven bodies, were present.
