THE JEWEL ROBBERY.
(Per Press Association.) Greymouth, October 10.; ' At the Magistrate's Court to-day William Jack, Alfred Prior, and William Newton were charged with committing the jewellery robbery • at Lloyds' establishment on September 23rd. A pood deal of evidence was taken, and Prior pleaded guilty. Jack and Newton pleaded not guilty. Prior was ordered to come up for sentence at the Supreme Court at Greymouth on November 12th, and Jack and Newton were committed for trial at the same court. Westport, October 11. Prior, charged with burglary at Greymouth and Westport, stated that a portion of the Westport spoil was put in a handkerchief and' thrown into the Buller River, and the police have j made an unsucessful search for it. '
