Carson (Wanganui) submitted a report concerning grants to qjiurches; It contained the following 1 recommendations, which were adopted: (1) That the principle of annual reductions in all grants be adopted in the I case of all aided churches unless otherwise specially ordered by resolutions of the Union. (2) That unless under special circumstances and by special .e----solution of xhe Union no grant shall be continued beyond five years. (3) That without speci il explanation anil resolution of the Union no grant be made to any clmrch which proposes to pay a stipend to its minister if married at a rate exceeding £'2OS per annum, or if unmarried £156 per annum.
