The local Beautifying Society has initiated a proposal to choose kowha: as the national flower ot New Zealand, and-on Monday next the people in the district are asked to wear a kowhai buttonhole. The shopkeepers are cooperating, bv a display m the windows, and the schools and boy scouts are also joining in.
