Royal Ned has been scratched for the Epsom : but remains in the Metropolitan. Several New Zealand sportsmen were amoimst the interested spectators at the final gallops. Gold Lace and Artillerie did an attractive gallop over seven furlongs, finishing together in Iniin 3-Usec. though Artillerie was allowed to hold the position only on sufferance. Master Soult cut out a mile in ltiiin -loi'soc, a record, which Broadsword, shaping well, equalled. Golden Slipper and CmsiueHa were content with slow work.
