GERMAN DREADNOUGHT CRUISE.

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.]

(Per Press Association.)

Received September 26. at-11.35 p.m. Berlin, September 26.

The Hamburger Nachrichtcn states that the Von der Tann's cruise of several months is partly to test the devices tried aboard her, and partly to bring the eyes of the South American Republics, now largelv occupied in strengthening their navies, to the capability of the German shipbuilding industry, and thus make a propaganda of the shipyards. The temperatures and weather conditions on the east and west coasts of South America will enable the thorough testing of the new machinery, especially the devices for the ventilation of the engine and boiler-rooms. The results will bo all the more valuable, as the new Navy Bill provides for a flying squadron of cruisers not attached to any station, but despatched wherever it is expedient.
