DAMAGES IN MOTOR ACCIDENT.
(Pek Press Association.^ Dunedin, August 25. At the Supreme Court to-dav the action brought by Louisa Mary Aiteheson against James Martin Samson, auctioneer, for the recovery of £IOOO damages for injuries received in- a motor car accident on April Bth, was concluded. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff on the ground oi negligence and want of'ordinary skill and care at the time of the accident, and assessed the damages at £750. Mr Adams, counsel for defendant, gave notice that lie would move to set aside the verdict and ask for judgment for defendant. His Honor Mr Justice Williams said further consideration would he reserved. It was just the same as :f counsel asked for a non-suit. Counsel had 14 days in. which to move. Mr Adams said lie would move for weight of evidence and that the damages were excessive.
